I woke up Sunday morning after a late night of celebrating about the Chart Room to a text from Andy at Trop Rock’N Duval, offering me a gig at Margaritaville from 1-3, filling in for another musician. So what does one do when his flight was scheduled at 5 (need to be there by 4 or earlier) I had a decision to make… what do I do??? Easy, I took the gig… There wasn’t even a hesitation. It didn’t matter If we missed the flight there was no way I was saying No to this opportunity.
Youโre not done in Key West until the plane takes off and youโre in it! Iโll remember that for next year, as I laid in bed staring at the ceiling not able to fall back to sleep. I was too excited last night was crazy, and now today I’m playing Margaritaville! Hardly any sleep, and I played almost 7 hours on Saturday (between Hank’s Hair of the Dog with Sara Bug and The Chart Room, which can be read about in a separate blog) I left to go play at Margaritaville. I will say that my show at Margaritaville was fire, I live streamed it for friends and family back home on my facebook page. I also made a friend with the General Manager of Margaritaville, so hopefully I can return for another gig down the road.
Our driver and now friend Steve was right there at the end of the show to take us to the Airport! Steve played a big part in helping to make some of my Key West Dreams come to life. I’m happy that Kim and I friended him.
